15 Days Eco Safari in Uganda

Eco Safari Uganda package will be a journey through beautiful sceneries and a visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National park, Queen Elizabeth National park, Bwindi impenetrable National park, Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mburo National park, Ssese islands and city tour. 

Activities during your eco tour to be encountered include game drives, Boat ride, Gorilla tracking and Bird watching, white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking and visit the Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary.

DAY 1: ENTEBBE-KAMPALA

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet our driver/guide exchange greetings and after transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 2: KAMPALA-MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Today we shall have breakfast, leave Kampala driving northwest. Visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking and the search of the loveliest bird shoebill while paddling traditional canoe. Lunch at Ziwa spacious restaurant. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, visit to the top of the spectacular falls, where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty and marvel as it compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through a seven meter canyon.

The 43 meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best of the Nile River.

DAY 3: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE ON THE RIVER NILE

Today we have breakfast and after we drive through the Northern part of the park to view and take photograph wildlife game drive of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, proceed for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where the rushing water escapes through a narrow gorge forming a great thunder. This is an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 4: MURCHISON-KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Have breakfast and after transfer from Murchison Falls NP driving Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley to embark on your eco tour. Drive through Hoima and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Toro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori. Evening take Bigodi nature walk to spot variety of birds like loveliest rare shoebill stork, White and black Columbus, vervet monkey and much more. Dinner and overnight

 

DAY 5: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we visit Kibale Forest National Park, which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, our closest relative. Kibale 1450 Chimpanzee represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also a home to the monkeys.Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. 

So you will enjoy a guided nature walk eco tour in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others. After lunch we explore the Crater Lake region, which has many crater lakes. Return to lodge for Dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 6: KIBALE FOREST-QUEEN NATIONAL PARK

After your morning breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range. As you go through the game park you might spot some animals. After lunch enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. 

This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. This launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species.

DAY 7: GAME DRIVE, BOAT RIDE

Take an early morning cup of coffee before setting off for a game drive along Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park and expect to see lions, elephants, buffalos, warthogs and lots of animals and birds. Get back to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, enjoy the two hour launch trip on Kazinga Channel for amazing bird life and a variety of wild Animals.

Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. 

 

DAY 8: KYAMBURA GORGE-ISHASHA SECTOR-BWINDI GORILLA PARK

After breakfast, drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. The chimps are quite mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but the walk is great adventure. This gorge is 16 km long on the Rift Valley and 100 meter deep. 

Return to lodge for lunch and after leave for the Ishasha sector of the park for a game drive in search of the tree climbing lions.

After the game drive proceed to Bwindi for dinner and overnight

 

DAY 9: MOUNTAINS GORILLA TRACKING

Early breakfast and briefing from the guides before you set off for the mountains gorilla tracking inside the Bwindi forest. You need to carry drinking water, rain jacket and jungle boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick. Gorilla tracking is enriching and rewarding as you walk through the thick rain forest. 

After tracking, come back to the lodge for lunch before making a scenic journey to Kabale through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. An area referred as the “Switzerland of Africa”. 

 

DAY 10: BWINDI GORILLA PARK-LAKE BUNYONYI

We will drive to Lake Bunyonyi, spending the night overlooking Uganda deepest lake, where you may try your hand at paddling at dugout canoe, or eating freshwater crayfish.

 

DAY 11: LAKE BUNYONYI-LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning embark on a 3 hours drive to Lake Mburo National Park for another exciting game drive en-route as you enter. Take an afternoon boat ride along the Lake to spot variety of wildlife and bird life species. You will have an evening game drive to get close look to impalas, elands, zebras and much more.

 

DAY 12: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA

After breakfast, Leisurely drive back to Kampala, have a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take some photos, then another stop over at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through the generations arriving in the afternoon.

 

DAY 13: KAMPALA – JINJA

After your breakfast, go for a city tour and visit the craft markets, Makerere University, Uganda museum, Bahai temple and Namugongo shrine. Lunch and after transfer to Jinja tourism site and visit to the source of the Nile and visit Bujagali falls to take an evening boat cruises.

 

DAY 14: JINJA ECO TOUR

Today we shall breakfast, after from variety of activities like white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking chose like 2 to experience a day. Lunch and after we depart to Kampala/Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 15: ENTEBBE-NGAMBA ISLAND CHIMPANZEE SANCTUARY

Today after breakfast, we proceed to Entebbe waterfront club and board a speed boat to Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary. You will be welcomed by the day caregiver and you will rest at the resource centre for briefing about the rules of the site, later you will experience the midday feeding session, have lunch at the island and after embark the boat and return to Entebbe with compliment entrance to Uganda wildlife education centre to view some big five like lion in cage and other faunas and birds.

Then in the evening our driver will transfer you to airport for return flight.
