12 Days Guatemala Romantic Getaway

Not only you will enjoy your romantic getaway, but you will also experience the mayan culture, magnificent landscapes, wildlife and one of the best beaches in the world.

Day 1: Arrival to Guatemala City / Antigua Guatemala

Reception at the airport “La Aurora”, upon arrival transfer to your hotel in Antigua Guatemala for overnight accommodations.

 

Day 2: Antigua Guatemala

Visit to the most important and significant attractions of the city including Antigua’s most beautiful churches, monasteries, convents, and the cultural center. This city is among the world’s best conserved colonial cities, it is a magical and captivating small city that will make you feel time stopped some 300 years ago. From its colonial architecture to its beautiful surroundings; strolling through town on the cobbled streets, you will experience the splendors of ancient times.

For lunch, have a special surprise at one of the old monasteries. Enjoy the view and history accompanied with your loved one. In the afternoon visit a coffee plantation, where you will experience the entire coffee process considered one of the best in the world in quality and flavor. Day 3: Antigua Guatemala

After breakfast, at your convenient time you will enjoy a spa in the hotel. In the afternoon transfer to Lake Atitlán for overnight accommodations.

 

Day 4: San Juan La Laguna & Santiago de Atitlán

Visit to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The word “Atitlán” is a Mayan word that translates as “the place where the rainbow gets its colors”. Panajachel is an 800 year old town of about 14000 people, mostly Kaqchikel Mayas and some foreigners from every corner of the globe, living inside that rainbow.

Upon arrival discover the magic that surrounds all its greatness while taking a boat to cross the Lake and visit two different Tzutuhil Villages. Visit a small town around the lake, where you’ll be able experience the Mayan culture to the purest. Then transfer to Santiago where you will visit the confraternity of the local saint named Maximon or Ri Laj Mam, visited by different people of different ethnicities who come to ask health and prosperity in their lives. Whether you believe in it or not, make sure to enjoy this magical experience.

 

Day 5: Lake Atitlán

Free day in the hotel to enjoy your own private terrace overlooking the lake and the solar heated pool to sit back and rest as you watch glowing sunsets over Lake Atitlán. Overnight accommodations in at the Lake.

 

Day 6: Lake Atitlán

Free morning. In the early afternoon transfer to La Reunión. Over there you will get the time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and luxury at the same time.

 

Day 7: La Reunión

Free day in the hotel to enjoy your own private pool and terrace overlooking the great volcanoes from Guatemala.

 

Day 8: La Reunión

Free day in the hotel to enjoy your own private pool and terrace overlooking the great volcanoes from Guatemala. In the early afternoon transfer to the airport to take flight to Flores.

 

Day 9: Tikal

Early in the morning we take a flight to Flores, Petén. Upon arrival transfer to one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mayan World, Tikal, its name means “Place of Voices”, built during the Maya Classic Period. There are places on this earth that are so stunning that it is impossible to capture them in words or photographs. Tikal is such a place and is considered the second largest city in the Maya world.

Tikal has the distinction of being the first site in Guatemala declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Upon arrival at Tikal archaeological site, our guide will show you the layout of the complex of Temples and Acropolis. Visit to the Complex Q and R, then to the Central Acropolis, Temples I “El Gran Jaguar and the Temple II” Los Mascarones “, regarded as the first and one of the most important monuments in the complex. Visit to the Lost World. Transfer back to your hotel.

 

Day 10: La Lancha

Free Day. Overnight accommodations in La Lancha.

 

Day 11: Lago Petén Itzá and Flores

Take your time to enjoy of a boat ride along the Lake Petén Itzá and after a visit to Isla de Flores. Early in the afternoon transfer to the airport to take flight back to Guatemala City.

 

Day 12: Guatemala City

Transfer to the airport to take flight back to your country.
