8 Days Argentina. Tango, wines and Andes Landscapes

Explore the pulsating life of Argentinas capital Buenos Aires and explore Mendoza

Day 1 – Buenos Aires

Welcome to Argentina!

Capital of Argentina and described as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires proudly embraces this title, as well as shows off plenty of its own culture! Explore the traditional European architecture, the cobbled streets lined with rustic outdoor cafes, the local antique and artisanal markets that offer plenty of bargain shopping, and the mouthwatering aroma of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open “parrrilla” (barbeque) in the air. Though above all, Buenos Aires is known as the home of the tango. Be sure to enjoy a traditional dinner-tango show and explore the colorful San Telmo and Recoleta neighborhoods.

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met at the airport and have a transfer in private to your hotel.

You will have the rest of the day to enjoy this vibrant city, leaving you the remainder of the day to explore the historic neighborhoods and enjoy the cafe culture of Buenos Aires.

In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel to be driven to one of Buenos Aires’ most emblematic cultural highlight’s; a Dinner and Tango Show offering a spectacular demonstration of the finest local dancing accompanied by delicious Argentine cuisine and all the malbec you’d like.

At the end of the evening you will be driven back to your hotel. Total duration (dinner and show) 3- 4 hours.

 

 Day 2 - Buenos Aires Tour and Tigre Tour

In the morning, after having a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel to enjoy our City Tour.

Over the course of a half day you will have the chance to visit the historical and political centre of the city; San Telmo with its cobblestone streets, La Boca where Buenos Aires turns colorful and tango is ever present, and the chic and aristocratic Recoleta, where the big palaces remind us that Buenos Aires was once the Paris of the South.Duration; 3-4 hours.

You will have free time to have lunch, and in the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel where you will board a comfortable bus. This one will cross on its journey along Avenida Costanera that is parallel to the Rio de la Plata giving us beautiful landcapes of our river. The first stop will be in San Isidro City. Our guides will take you to visit the beautiful Cathedral of San Isidro and popular mansions habited by ancient aristocratic families of Buenos Aires.

Then you will rise the bus to continue the journey to Tigre. In Tigre we will climb aboard a catamaran where we´ll enjoy 40 minutes tour of the Delta. There, we can see the landscape of rivers and streams that cross forming numerous islands.

You can see the lifestyle of the local people and how they interact with services operating on a floating way in rivers: boats, rafts, water taxis. You will also see houses built on stilts and the house-museum of president Sarmiento.

At the end of the boat ride, you will return to the port to board the bus again and make your way back to your hotel. Estimated duration of the tour 4-5 hours.

We will return to your Hotel in the afternoon / evening.

 

Day 3 - Buenos Aires - Pampas tour

In the morning, after having a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel to enjoy a whole day at a traditional ranch.

You will leave Buenos Aires for the grassy Pampas, surrounding the city, which extends into the interior for hundreds of miles. When the Spanish began colonizing the area, they harnessed the wealth of the Pampas by ranching them, eventually resulting in vast estancias with grand and boldly designed architecture. The men upon whom it fell to take care of the animals came to be called Gauchos, the Argentine cowboys. This excursion will allow you the opportunity to enter into the romantic world of these gauchos; you will be able to participate in their traditional dances and music during an authentic gaucho festival. The party takes place at a beautiful old ranch and includes horseback riding, hayrides, a typical “asado criollo” (argentine barbeque), wine, and a folklore show of dancing and gaucho horseback skill demonstration.

This activity has an estimate duration of 8 hours. At the end of the afternoon you will be driven back to your hotel.

 

Day 4 - Mendoza, the land of Sun and Wine

In the morning, after having a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel to take you to the domestic airport. Once there, we will take a flight to Mendoza, a beautiful city surrounded by mountain and vineyards. The flight will have an estimated duration of 1 hour. Upon arrival in Mendoza, our transport will be waiting for us to take us to our hotel. Once there, you can leave your luggage and have the day off to visit the city, its lively center, full of bars, restaurants and shopping centers.

 

Day 5 - Mendoza, visiting the wineries

Early in the morning, after enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will pick you up by you hotel to  begin our tour to the outskirts of the city, visiting scenarios worthy of a postcard, we will visit  beautiful vineyards, getting into the fascinating world of wine, we will get to know two of Mendoza's most emblematic wineries, accompanied by a local expert who will show us the process that the grape goes through to obtain the national drink of Argentina, Wine of course, and then we can taste some of its best-known varieties such as Malbec and Cabernet, among others. Around noon we will be returning to the Hotel, with free time to have lunch and enjoy the city.

Estimated duration of the tour, between 3 and 4 hours.

 

Day 6 - Mendoza, the immensity of the mountain range

Early in the morning, after enjoying a tasty breakfast, we will pick you up by your hotel to begin our incredible day in the Andes range!  We will be able to appreciate panoramic views that are so incredible beautiful that dont seem real, such as the Aconcagua, the highest peak of the Americas.

Our tour will start on the Mendoza River, we will be dazzled by the view of the majestic range Cordón del Plata range, the Potrerillos Dam, a colossal work for the generation of hydraulic energy and also the beautiful valley of Cacheuta.

Our next visit will be Uspallata, pre-Hispanic settlement of the Huarpes aborigines and the last point of the southern Inca Empire.

We will also visit the villages of Picheuta, Polvareda and Punta de Vacas, through which you can access to the "Los Penitentes" ski center, which operates during the winter season, from June to August.

Further on is the Puente del Inca, where the river "Las Cuevas" has carved the mountain forming a natural bridge with natural thermal springs. We will also appreciate the magnificence of Mount Aconcagua the "colossus of America", with 6,959 meters of height.

Following the international route to reach our final destination where is located the Customs Offices "Horcones", and a few kilometers further on, on the border with Chile, the town of Las Cuevas located at 3,200 meters above sea level.

After this intense adventure, we will return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 7 - Buenos Aires

After tasting an exquisite breakfast and having spent several days of incredible experiences, we will have a free morning to relax, walking around the city center, strolling through the Independence Park, visit the ruins of what was the original city, or to go for shopping for your favorite wine.

In the afternoon, we will pick you up at your hotel to take you to the airport to go back to Buenos Aires.

Once in Buenos Aires, we will pick you up at the airport, and leave you at your hotel, you will have a free afternoon to enjoy the city, relax in its cafes and shops and say goodbye to the home of Tango.

 

Day 8 - Buenos Aires

After having breakfast at the agreed time, we will pick you up (private service) to take you to the international airport for your flight back home.
