Taking a break in Reykjavik City offers so many different possibilities: You can relax and observe the city life while enjoying excellent cuisine and vibrant nightlife, you can use the capital as a base from which you can explore some of the many highlights of the South and West Iceland which are easily within your reach. Join optional tours to visit waterfalls, geysers, volcanoes and glaciers; go whale watching, horseback riding or take part in various other activities.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Tuesday: ARRIVAL – KEFLAVIK – REYKJAVIK     
Arrival in Iceland. Transfer under own arrangement from Keflavik international airport to Reykjavik and your accommodation (tranfers can be booked through Nonni Travel).

Day 2 – Wednesday: REYKJAVIK CITY TOUR - SUGGESTED OPTIONAL TOUR: BLUE LAGOON OR WHALE WATCHING  
Breakfast at the hotel and a short coach sightseeing tour of Reykjavik. We get to know the old and the new part of the city, passing colourful houses, the harbour, the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church, Arbaer outdoor museum and more. The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own.     
Optional tours are also available, such as visiting the Blue Lagoon where we get the chance to relax in the pleasantly warm geothermal waters; or join a whale watching boat tour to search for some of the largest mammals on earth.
In the evening you can join an optional »Viking dinner« in the »Viking village«.     
Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 3 - Thursday: REYKJAVIK - SUGGESTED OPTIONAL TOUR: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE
Breakfast at the hotel and free time.    
A tour to this part of South Iceland is a must for every visitor – the Golden Circle: drive through the southern lowlands to one of the most majestic waterfalls in Iceland – Gullfoss waterfall (the Golden Falls), which drops down into a 32-m deep gorge. We visit the Geyser area, where one of them - Strokkur -  spouts water every 5-10 minutes. Here we will also take our lunch break. We drive to the Thingvellir national park, the site of the first parliament, founded in 930. We return to Reykjavik.

Day 4 - Friday: REYKJAVIK - SUGGESTED OPTIONAL TOUR: SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA
Breakfast at the hotel and free time.    
The Snaefellsnes peninsula in West Iceland is almost a miniature version of the island. In addition to its characteristic Snaefellsjokull glacier, there are black sandy beaches, bird cliffs, spectacular mountains and volcanic craters. On this tour, we will, for example, stop at the small fishing village Arnarstapi, the ancient fishing village Hellnar, visit Djupalonssandur beach and the iconic Kirkjufell mountain.
The stunning landscape of the peninsula has captured the imagination of people all over the world, ever since Jules Verne wrote the famous science fiction novel "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" but the journey begins at Snaefellsjokull glacier.

Day 5 - Saturday: REYKJAVIK – KEFLAVIK – DEPARTURE
Breakfast and airport shuttle transfer to Keflavik airport - please pre-book at the hotel reception the evening before if you have not pre-booked with us. If your flight departs late afternoon, then you have the possibility to enjoy an additional optional half day  tour in the morning or you can add in the Blue Lagoon tour with drop off at Keflavik international airport (surcharge).
