High and low in Ethiopia

Located in the Northeast of Africa, Ethiopia is mostly located at 2000-2500 metres above sea level, which gives it a considerably cooler climate than it´s neighbouring countries. Most of the region is mountainous, contrary to popular belief that it´s a dry desert landscape, and the high altitude takes the edge off the heat. In the evening you might feel like putting a sweater on and nights can get quite cold.

Winter is coming

When winter comes to Svalbard in Norway, it means no daylight. But that doesn´t mean no lights. The blue twilight colors the snow, the northern light dances in the sky and the moonlight is reflected in the white landscape. There is nothing dark or depressing about visiting the northernmost civilization in the world during those cold winter months. With a population of only 2642, they have their own sushi restaurant, one of Europe´s biggest wine cellars and a bar named one of the coolest bars in the world. But you better not step outside the settlements unarmed.
